Your children can come and play in the Chestnut Wood Inclusive Adventure Playground!
This quiet place is designed with persons with disabilities and SEN families in mind. The following equipment has been installed:
Wide Access Slide
The Wide Access Slide can be used with or without a wheelchair.
Wheelchair Trampoline
The trampoline can be used with our without a wheelchair. Bounce around with a friend!
Raised Sand Pit
The Sand Pits are easily accessible to help you build your own Dragon Sand Castles.
Wheelchair Roundabout
The roundabout can be used with or without a wheelchair. Hold tight and go for a spin!
Giant Xylophone
Play a tune by hitting the steel bars with the rubber mallets.
Ball Race
Lift the balls up the metal tube, let go and watch them roll down the metal tube and return.
Inclusive Basket Swing
To swing on a normal flat seat requires balance, a strong grip and good co-ordination.
Water Play (Unavailable -Under going maintenance)
Use the pump and follow the water down the bamboo, into the water wheel and back into a bucket.
Our new inclusive swing seat allows children who don’t have those abilities to also enjoy the sensation of swinging.
To gain entry you must use a Radar Key (the National Key Scheme). We do have these keys for sale in our Gift Shop or we can hire out keys for a deposit of £5 per key.

Emily RWide Access Slide
THE SLIDE HAS BEEN BUILT WITH A WIDE ACCESS SO PARENTS/GUARDIANS CAN AID PERSONS TO THE TOP OF THE SLIDE
Do not slide until the bottom is clear.
Go down the slide feet first and move away quickly once you reach the bottom.
Do not climb up the face of the slide.
For riding the slides, we advise that long sleeved tops, tucked in on all sides and trousers are worn. Friction burns will occur if not.
Water Play
Use the accessible pump to pump the water to the top.
Play with the water.
The water is not drinkable but is fresh and not recycled. It is pumped away to water the plants.
Trampoline Rules
THIS TRAMPOLINE IS SPECIALLY DESIGNED FOR USE WITH WHEELCHAIRS
One user at a time. 120kg maximum weight.
Push the wheelchair carefully into the middle of the trampoline.
Gently bounce the wheelchair up and down on the trampoline. This should not be done to an excessive height and the parent/guardian needs to take extra care, so you do not get injured by the wheelchair.
This trampoline can also be used without a wheelchair.
Sand Pit Rules
The sandpit is on a raised table to allow wheelchair users to access the sand.
Do not remove the sand from the tables. Do not throw the sand.
Leave all the sand equipment in the sand for other customers to use.
Roundabout Rules
THIS ROUNDABOUT IS SPECIALLY DESIGNED FOR USE WITH WHEELCHAIRS
Push the wheelchair into the middle of the roundabout. Put the brake on the wheelchair.
Parent/guardian to stand behind the wheelchair to stop the wheelchair rolling off.
Seats on the edge of the roundabout can be sat on by others.
Sensible spinning then can take place.
This roundabout can also be used without a wheelchair.
Basket Swing Rules
One at a time.
To transfer the person from their wheelchair on and off the swing, one parent/guardian needs to hold the swing while one parent/guardian needs to carefully transfer the person into the basket/wheelchair.
Sit back in the basket.
Ensure the area is clear and then swing to the level that is appropriate for the person sat in the basket.
Take extra care while swinging the basket so you do not get hit as it swings back and forth.
Ball Race Rules
The balls must be left in the metal tube.
Lift the balls up the metal tube,
let go and watch them roll down
the metal tube and return.

Numbers: this play area with its specialist equipment is designed for persons to enjoy that may have difficulty with large numbers of people, please keep this area to small numbers, as to not make the play area overcrowded.
If you are not in need of this specialist inclusive equipment, then please leave the play area for those that do need this specialist inclusive equipment and enjoy the facilities around the rest of the Park.
Respect the equipment and leave it as you find it so others can enjoy.
Please follow the individual instructions at each piece of play equipment.
No liability will be accepted for any losses, damage or
theft of personal items whilst in the Chestnut Wood Inclusive
Play Area.
You will be liable for any deliberate damage to any property
of Knockhatch Adventure Park.
KNOCKHATCH ADVENTURE PARK CANNOT ACCEPT ANY LIABILITY FOR INJURY CAUSED WHILST USING THIS RIDE. ANYONE BREAKING THESE RULES MAY BE ASKED TO LEAVE THE PARK WITH NO REFUND GIVEN.
