21 years and over £11.44

Hours: Monday – 9.00am to 6.00pm, Saturday – 9.00am to 6.00pm and Sunday – 9.00am to 6.00pm

Are you passionate about working with animals and engaging with the public? We are looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated Animal Team Member to join our growing Zoo & Farm team!

About Us:

We are a small but expanding farm and zoo, home to a diverse range of species including primates, small carnivores, rodents, parrots, owls, and domestic farm breeds. This role offers a unique opportunity to work hands-on with a variety of animals while also delivering exciting visitor experiences.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Providing daily care for a wide range of animal species, including feeding, cleaning, and enrichment.
  • Delivering educational talks and engaging presentations to visitors, school groups, and experience guests.
  • Assisting with animal training and interactive experiences.
  • Maintaining high standards of health and safety for both animals and visitors.
  • Working outdoors in all weather conditions in a physically active role.
  • Supporting the wider team with general zoo operations and visitor engagement.

What We’re Looking For:

  • A passion for working with animals and people.
  • Common sense and a practical approach to problem-solving.
  • Good interpersonal skills and confidence in presenting to crowds and small groups.
  • The ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • A strong work ethic and willingness to take on a physically demanding role.
  • A professional and friendly attitude at all times.
  • A willingness to learn to operate zoo vehicles safely when required.
  • Practical experience working with animals (formal or informal) is highly desirable.

Essential Requirements:

  • Aged 18 or over
  • A full UK driving licence
  • A Diploma in Animal Care (or relevant experience)
  • Reliable transport to reach Knockhatch Zoo
